Mission & Vision

Mission, Values and Vision Statement
(developed in the “Meeting the Future” process 1990/1)

We are a community of Jesus’ followers centred in Yarraville and South Kingsville. In response to our experience of God’s grace, compassion, freedom and justice, and empowered by the Spirit, we want to live out this good news with each other, our neighbours and the world.

3. We share in the journey towards personal growth and wholeness.

4. We accept our differences and encourage individuality.

5. We work at open, honest and forgiving relationships.

6. We share responsibility for decision making.

7. We are prepared to take risks.

8. We care for God’s creation.

9. We uphold the dignity and worth of every person.

10. We work for peace, justice and empowerment.

Our vision for the future (Vision Statement)

We are building a community in which:

1. We act in response to God’s presence and activity - in creation, the church and the world.

2. We depend on God’s grace and honestly acknowledge and confront our brokenness.

3. We seek to grow as the people of God, open to the Spirit and actively exploring faith.

4. We accept the challenge to communicate our faith to our children and encourage them to explore their own faith.

5. We question and challenge the values and structures of our society.

6. We balance our lives between reflection and action.

7. Worship is creative, offers renewal and inspires hope.

8. We invite all people to share God’s grace with us.

9. We respond practically to suffering in the local area and the wider world.
