Geoff Wraight

Geoff came to Westgate in April of 1999. He was previously pastor at Elsternwick/St.Kilda Baptist Church and Diamond Valley before that. After an early career as a technical officer and teacher he completed his Bachelor of Theology at Whitley College in Melbourne in 1992 and was ordained in 1993. Geoff completed his Master of Theology through the MCD (Melb College of Divinity) in 2000 with a special interest in Australian contextual theology and continues to do some occasional teaching at Whitley. Geoff has a 'practical streak' and enjoys helping people out in fixing stuff as well as enjoying cooking and slowly re-building his house. Geoff is married to Elaine and has three teenage children.

Stacey Aslangul
Stacey was born and educated in Melbourne and has various qualifications in hospitality and hotel management. She has held various positions in this field including running her own catering company for four years and more recently as Events Manager for the Regent Theatre Company. Stacey’s ministry experience includes experiences working with YWAM, Sacred Heart Mission, Gatehouse, Scripture Union and other groups. From 2002 - 2005 she was Associate Pastor – youth and young adults at Ashburton Baptist Church where her strong ministry and pastoral gifts were further developed. Stacey has been accepted as an Ordination Candidate with the Baptist Union of Victoria and is near to completing the requirements of this course.
Stacey works part-time at Westgate as a Youth Pastor and part-time with the Baptist Union of Victoria as a Youth Consultant for the Western Region.

Arohn Kuung
Arohn Kuung is a refugee Baptist Pastor from Chin State in Burma. He trained as a pastor in Burma gaining a Bachelor of Theology in 1988. After this Arohn gained his BD at Serampore University in India and then served as warden and teacher and eventually principal at the Union Theological School in Matupi, Chin State. After severe persecution by the miltary regime Arohn and his wife Esther fled via India to Australia in January 2000 and presented as an Asylum Seeker. He was accepted as a refugee and has recently gained full Australian citizenship. Arohn is a key person in the liason between the English speaking and non-English speaking (largely refugee) part of our congregation. Arohn is also multilingual and speaks seven or more languages fluently which means he is in demand as an interpreter for refugee services around the region. He and Esther have two beautiful daughters both born in Australia.  Arohn is currently on a temporary assignment with the UNHCR in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
